This willow wicker basket is a fishing creel. This is the basket traditionally used by fishermen to store their catch on a day's fishing. The hole in the lid is where the fish were placed through to be stored in the basket until the fisherman takes them home for tea! It has a dark brown real leather clasp with an adjustable canvas strap for ease of carrying; the perfect gift for the fisherman in your life.
