Handmade, Personalised & Made to Order

Many of the products at Unusual Designer Gifts are a little different from standard off-the-shelf items.

Some are handmade, personalised or made to order especially for you, often by skilled craftspeople and small independent makers here in the UK.

Because these products are created specifically for your order, production and delivery times can be longer than for products that are already in stock. Where an item is made to order, you will find the relevant production or estimated delivery time on the product page.

Playing Card Picture Frames

Our Playing Card Picture Frames are individually handmade and personalised to your chosen phrase, creating a unique piece especially for you.

Please allow approximately 14–21 working days for your frame to be produced. Your frame may be completed sooner, depending on the length of your chosen phrase and the size of the finished frame. Larger frames generally require additional production time.

Each mount is carefully handcrafted in-house before being professionally framed by a skilled local picture framer to ensure a high-quality finish.

Once your completed frame has been dispatched, you will receive tracking details so you can follow its delivery.

Approving Your Playing Card Layout

A photograph of your card phrase mounted onto the backing board can be provided for your approval before it is sent for framing.

Please check the spelling, card arrangement and overall layout carefully.

Once you have confirmed that you are happy for us to proceed, your piece will be professionally framed and no further changes can be made.

Our collection also includes other products that may be handmade or produced to order.

Depending on the individual product, this may include items such as:

Where colour, size, wording, design or another specification is selected or supplied by you, please check your choices carefully before completing your order.

Production and Delivery Times

Made-to-order products require production time before they can be dispatched.

Any production time shown on a product page is separate from the delivery time unless specifically stated otherwise.

We will always aim to have your order completed as quickly as possible, but handcrafted products can occasionally take a little longer during particularly busy periods.

Once tracking is available for your order, we will provide the relevant delivery information.

Personalised and Bespoke Orders

Products that are personalised or made specifically to your requirements cannot normally be changed once production has begun.

If you realise that you have made an error with wording, size, colour or another specification, please contact us as soon as possible. If production has not yet started, we will do our best to help, although we cannot guarantee that changes will still be possible.

Cancellations and Returns

Products that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised are not eligible for the usual change-of-mind cancellation rights that apply to standard online purchases.

Not every product described as made to order is necessarily excluded from cancellation or return rights. Your rights depend on the nature of the individual product and whether it has been made or personalised specifically to your requirements.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

Being handmade, personalised or made to order does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Please check your order as soon as possible after delivery.

If you discover a problem, please contact us promptly and, where appropriate, include clear photographs of the item, packaging and any damage. This helps us investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We will deal with faulty, damaged or misdescribed items in accordance with your statutory rights.
