It produced by British Railways (BR) to promote rail travel to Bath, North East Somerset. The cushion shows a view of the Pump Room, part of the baths built by the Romans who were drawn to Bath, which they named ‰Û÷Aquae Sulis‰۪, because of its unique natural hot springs. In the 18th century, Bath was the most fashionable resort in England. Artwork by Claude Buckle (1905-1973), who originally trained as an architect, but later turned to pictorial art. He painted in both oil and watercolour.
