Kew Gardens Or RichmondåʉÛÒ Kate M Burrell -åÊTFL LTM Collection
The Kate M Burrell collection consists of seven deckchairåÊdesigns from the TfL's London Transport Museum poster archive.
Drawn between in 1927-1928 they take the sitter on an art decoåÊadventure from the end of the line, to an up-river excursion via Kew Gardens,
a countryside jaunt and finally a visit to the Southend seaside acrossåÊa palette of bright pinks, blues and greens. Burrell designedåÊposters for the Underground Group and London Transport
between 1924-1934. A relative mystery though surrounds theåÊdesigner who is thought to be Kathleen Burrell a founder, inåÊthe 1920s, of Clement Dane Studio, which was a prevalentåÊcommercial design company at the time.
